This particular knife’s name comes from the name of grass, ‘siru’. The shape of this khukuri blade is very much like the leaf of the Siru. Hence it is called Sirupate khukuri. It has a relatively straighter blade which is not as wide as other knives. British Gurkhas use a similar kind of light blade for jungle training.
This blade can be used to chop wood or bone-clean bushes and also for other kinds of domestic works. This khukuri is handmade by skilled craftsmen known as “Bishwakarmas,” who have inherited the art of khukuri making from their forefathers, in Nepal. These craftsmen use traditional techniques and utilize high-quality materials to ensure the durability and reliability of the knife.
