16″ Heavy Duty 5 Fuller Gurkha Khukuri | Fixed Blade Military Kukri | EGKH
US$ 162.50
16″ Heavy Duty 5 Fuller Gurkha Khukuri | Fixed Blade Military Kukri is similar to a Panawala Angkhola khukuri but has a broader blade with 5 fullers made from highly graded 5160 carbon steel. There is a full tang handle that is made from rosewood. This khukuri can be used for chopping wood, bone, clearing bushes, etc.
16″ Heavy Duty 5 Fuller Gurkha Khukuri | Fixed Blade Military Kukri by Ex Gurkha Khukuri House. This khukuri (also called Kukri or Khukri by many people outside Nepal) features a 16-inch blade made from highly graded 5160 carbon steel. The blade has 5 chiras meaning (fullers) and is highly influenced by the Panawal Angkhola khukuri. This khukuri, however, has a unique broader blade & a handle with a wider circumference.
The 16″ Heavy Duty 5 Fuller Gurkha Khukuri is hand forged and made from highly graded 5160 carbon steel. The blade is razor sharp and has an oil-quenching temper making the blade very strong. We have used 200-grit sandpaper to provide the blade with a satin finish. The full tang handle is 6 inches in length and made from rosewood and has a steel blocker for more protection of the user’s hand. The handle has been joined strongly to the blade by metal rivets. The blade is therefore visible all around the entire length of the handle. We have made a ring design in the middle of the handle to aid in better grip over the khukuri. This blade can be used to chop wood, bone, clear bushes, etc.
The notch (kaura or kaudi) in the blade near the hilt of most khukuri serves as a conduit for the blood on the blade to drip out and to prevent it from soiling the hilt, as well as a place for catching and neutralizing an enemy blade. Unlike a regular notch, this khukuri has a notch shaped like a bow with an arrow.
