Many kukri enthusiasts also call this khukuri a Hancy kukri.
This machete kukri is made by skilled Nepalese blacksmiths known locally as “Kaami”. They hand forge blades using mostly traditional tools, carrying forward generations of blade-making tradition. This Historical Hybrid khukuri has a 14-inch blade made from strong 5160 High Carbon Steel, which comes from truck leaf springs, making it incredibly tough.
Its blade is heated and cooled in a balanced way to ensure it’s long-lasting. We frequently get asked about the two small knife-like utility tools that come along with a khukuri. These two knives are very helpful tools when working outside. The small sharp knife is a ‘Karda’ & the blunt one is a ‘Chakhmakh’. The Karda is a useful small sharp knife that may be used for a variety of tasks, including cutting fruit and opening cans. The Chakmak, a blunt steel, can be used to hone the blade and can even start a campfire with a flint spark.
Purchasing this khukuri from EGKH ensures not only a remarkable and reliable knife but also comes with the added benefit of being covered by the EGKH Warranty.
