The 13″ Traditional Military Service No.1 Khukuri | Machete Kukri Knife | EGKH is one of the most beautiful military khukuris EGKH has forged. The blade of this traditional military kukri is the same as the Military issue blade Service No.1 kukri. The Service No.1 khukuri (kukri) is the most common and popular among military soldiers. All British Gurkha military soldiers receive this khukuri (kukri) during enlistment and keep it throughout their army career. An officer regularly inspects it, and it is typically used during Parades and Duties. Originally, the left side of the blade bears engravings of Recruiting Years and the Country’s name. This engraving tradition began because, in the past, military soldiers often forgot their enlistment year due to numerous wars.
13″ Traditional Military Service No.1 Khukuri | Machete Kukri Knife | EGKH has a 13-inch blade made from highly graded 5160 carbon steel with a polished satin finish. There is a 5-inch rat tail tang handle made from water buffalo bone and rosewood. This machete kukri knife has a handle with a circumference measuring 4 inches, providing a comfortable grip. With an upper spine of 10 mm and a lower spine of 3 mm with a belly of 5.9 cm, this kukri offers both strength and precision while using it. The handle is ergonomically designed to protect your hand from the extremely sharp edge of the blade when you are using it.
