12″ Tin Chirra (3 Fuller) The Beast Khukuri | Full Tang Wooden Handle Kukri

This is one of the best selling khukuris (also called “kukri” or “khukri” by many people oustside Nepal) in Nepal. We named this monster 12″ Tin Chirra The Beast Khukuri. This Khukuri has three Chirras (3 fullers) on the blade & due to these fullers this Khukuri is named as “Tin Chirra” which is the nepali translation for 3 fuller.

The scabbard is made from pinewood wrapped in brown colored genuine water buffalo leather. The full tang handle is made of very strong Rosewood. The blade is made of highly graded 5160 carbon steel and is highly-polished. The blade measures 12-inch while the handle is 5-inch long. Unlike other handles, the handle and the blade is a one single piece where the blade is visible all around the handle (See pictures). Two rosewood pieces are joined strongly to the metal part of handle with the metal rivets. There is also an lanyard hole on handle.

Temper & Use of The Beast Khukuri:

We did a balanced oil purring temper on the edge of the blade making it very strong. The edge on this khukuri is super sharp and extremely durable that can slice through a water bottle with ease or chop off hard materials like bricks in pieces without taking any damage to the blade. This knife can be used to chop wood or bone, clearing bushes, slaughtering animals for food etc. You can also carry this knife during your outdoor adventure trips like hiking, camping, caving etc.

There are two small pockets in the back of the scabbard which hold two small utility knives. The two small knife Chakmak (blunt one) and Karda (sharp one) are complementary with the purchase of this knife. The blunt knife is used to sharpen the khukuri blade and the sharp knife that is used for light cutting works like opening cans, skinning and other delicate cutting tasks.

Note: This is a handcrafted khukuri therefore please note that each one might have slight variations in measurement. This is an authentic gurkha kukri knife – handmade by “kaami” (Nepalese blacksmiths) from mostly Bishwokarma caste in Nepal .
