10″ Veteran Camping Hatchet | HandForged Viking Axe

This is a 10″ Veteran Camping Hatchet | HandForged Viking Axe with Etching on the custom rosewood handle in a leather case. EGKH custom handmade axe (“Bancharo” in Nepali) is similar to a tomahawk (also referred to as a hawk). This is a type of single-handed axe from North America, traditionally resembling a hatchet with a straight shaft. The name came into the English language in the 17th century as an adaptation of the Powhatan (“Virginian Algonquian”) word.

Tomahawks were general-purpose tools used by Native Americans and European colonials alike and often employed as hand-to-hand or throwing weapons. The metal tomahawk heads were originally based on a Royal Navy boarding axe and used as a trade item with Native Americans for food and other provisions. Many of our customers from around the world contacted us to have a handmade Tomahawk Axe made in Nepal. So, we made this one at their request.

The 5160 carbon steel blade has been tempered to create a strong blade that will last a long time. The axe head is held in place with a traditional wooden wedge and epoxy. We will include an additional metal shim/wedge (in the shipment package) to tighten up the axe head if you are going to be using it to chop wood. The blade is made near razor sharp while still maintaining enough thickness on the edge to withstand heavy chopping.
