This is a 10″ Chitlange Superior Khukuri | Traditional Nepali Kukri Knife. The khukuri (also called “kukri” or “khukri” by the westerners) is hand forged by the “Kami” (Nepalese blacksmiths) who normally belong to “Biswakarma” caste who are the traditional inheritors of the art of kukri-making in Nepal. There is a 10″ (25.4 cm) long blade made of highly graded 5160 carbon steel and a 5″ (12.7 cm) long full tang handle made from rosewood. The overall length is 15″  (approx). The khukuri weighs about 465 grams and its total weight is about 650 grams. It is made using top-quality materials in a very traditional way with traditional tools.

The khukuri has a razor-sharp blade that is highly polished with a proper tempering & oil quenching. This khukuri features a distinctive slope and curve that is different from other knives. This is our improved version that will provide superior execution during use. The scabbard is made of soft cottonwood wrapped in water buffalo hide (leather) dyed in black color. The premium sheath has leather belt loops to hang the khukuri on a belt for easy carry.

There are two pockets on the back of the scabbard which hold two small utility knives called “Karda & “Chakmak”. The blunt steel is called “chakmak” for sharpening the blade and for striking spark with a flint and the little sharp knife known as “karda” used for skinning small animals or cutting fruits.

The khukuri can be used as a survival knife or camping knife for outdoor lovers. The khukuri can be used for various purposes from building, clearing, chopping firewood, digging, slaughtering animals for food, and cutting meat & vegetables to skinning animals and opening cans. It is used as a general farm and household tool in Nepal.
