10″ Authentic British Army Iraqi Operation Khukuri | Hand-forged Gripper Blocker Handle Veteran Kukri by Ex Gurkha Khukuri House. This khukuri (also called kukri or khukuri by many people outside Nepal) has a hand-forged 10″ razor-sharp blade made from highly graded 5160 carbon steel. The full tang handle of the blade is about 5 inches in length and is made from special Sadan wood. You clearly see the metal of the blade between two sadan wood pieces of the handle as the wood is tightly riveted to the handle of the blade. The handle has a blocker that protects the user’s hands from the sharp edges of the blade. The handle also has an ergonomic design that provides a tight hand grip. The scabbard of the khukuri is made from pinewood wrapped in refined water buffalo leather.
The color of the handle and the leather of the scabbard is identical to the color of the desert sands that provides camouflage for the khukuri, keeping it hidden from the enemy’s eyes. The blade’s design relates to the khukuri used by the Gurkha Regiments of the British Army during their operations in Iraq. The khukuri looks similar to the Panawala Angkhoal Khukuri but is heavier than the Angkhola khukuri. The blade of the khukuri has very strong spring steel which is processed for a longer period of time. The overall craftsmanship of this military knife is amazing.
This 10″ Authentic British Army Iraqi Operation Khukuri is one of the best Khukuri with a tight & deep gripping handle that can be used for heavy-duty work. The main reason to introduce this khukuri is to meet the demand of our customers who want a durable long-lasting blade that they could use for both daily and rough purposes. This khukuri can be used to effectively hack wood, chop firewood, clear bushes, cut meat & bones, etc.
The notch (kaura or kaudi) in the blade near the hilt of most khukuris serves as a conduit for the blood on the blade to drip out, thus preventing it from soiling the hilt, as well as a place for catching and neutralizing an enemy blade.
This Khukuri has two pockets on the back of the scabbard which hold a blunt steel called “Chakmak” for sharpening the blade or for creating sparks with a flint and a little knife known as “Karda” used for skinning small animals and opening cans.
