This is Gurkha Jungle Extreme PRI Khukuri (also known as “kukri” or “khukri”). The Jungle of PRI type is the official combat issue of the Gurkha regiment. The standard-sized Jungle Khukuri has a lightweight 10 ½ inches long, high carbon steel unpolished blade. Its full-tang rosewood handle is 5.5 inches long. The sheath of the khukuri is made from buffalo hide. The shape and size of this khukuri are similar to the service no.1 khukuri. It weighs 750 grams along with the scabbard.

When the Gurkha soldier joins the British Army, they obtain this khukuri (kukri) during the training session. This khukuri is used for tactical jungle warfare by the Gurkhas and is also known as Jungle or PRI-type khukuri. The highly durable unpolished blade on this Gurkha Jungle Extreme PRI Khukuri is highly suited for rough use in forests as a hunting knife. The blade of this khukuri is bent more inwards from the juro (peak). Unlike other jungle khukuri, the PRI types of khukuri have bevels that are normally shorter that assist while cutting and chopping. These design aspects normally aid soldiers on the battlefield during wartime use.
