This 10″ American Eagle Handle Khukuri | Authentic Gurkha Kukri Knife is one of the most beautiful khukuri(“kukri” or “khukri” in the west) models. The name “American Eagle” derives from the Eagle which is the national symbol of the United States. The base of the handle is shaped like an eagle’s head and it’s famous among knife collectors in the United States. The blade is hand forged beautifully by skilled craftsmen and blacksmiths in eastern Nepal. The handle is made of Rosewood with a white metal tip/ pommel while the scabbard is made of cottonwood covered with yak hide. The Blade is multi-purpose camping and bush knife and survival tool, used for a wide range of purposes like making camp, clearing brush, and other uses. These knives are used by soldiers in the field in day-to-day operations, and by farmers in the Himalayan region for daily chores and survival tasks. This khukuri is a handcrafted knife therefore please note that each one might have slight variations in measurement. The size of the blade is 10-inch (25.4cm) hand-made from highly graded 5160 carbon steel. It is a polished blade. The handle which is a full tang type is about 5.5-inch (12.7cm) & made of hard rosewood. The overall length of the khukuri is 15-inch (38.1.78cm) from the tip of the blade to the pommel of the handle (Approx). The total weight is about 1.99 lbs or 31.75 Oz (900 grams) Approx. along with the blade and sheath. The scabbard is made from cotton covered in leather.
