This is a 13.5″ Chitlange Blocker Handle Khukuri | Full Tang Fighting &Survival Kukri by Ex Gurkha Khukuri House. It is a traditional Chitlange khukuri (also called kukri or khukri by many people outside Nepal) with a balanced oil-quenching tempered razor-sharp blade to perform heavy cutting & chopping activities. The very design of Chitlange khukuri comes from the “Chitlang” which is a village in Nepal. This design was first forged by skillful craftsmen native people of Chitlange which was famous for metal items & ornaments. The design is similar to the Sirupate Khukuri except for the design of the blade and the handle.
This khukuri is very famous in Chitlange village where the people use this blade to perform tasks like chopping meat, wood, clearing bushes, etc. They use the khukuri while working in the fields & farms and they keep it at their home like pride wealth.
The notch (kaura or kaudi) in the blade near the hilt of the khukuri serves as a conduit for the blood on the blade to drip out, thus preventing it from soiling the hilt and as well as a place for catching and neutralizing an enemy blade.
All Khukuris have two pockets on the back of the scabbard which hold a blunt steel called “chakmak” for sharpening the blade or for creating spark with a flint and a little knife known as “karda” used for skinning small animals.
This 13.5″ Chitlange Blocker Handle Khukuri is hand forged by Kaamis belonging to the Biswakarma castes who are the traditional inheritors of the art of kukri-making. It is handmade khukuri made from high-quality materials and using very traditional methods & hand tools.
