This is a 10″ Authentic British Gurkha Iraqi Operation Khukuri | Gripper Blocker Handle Kukri by Ex Gurkha Khukuri House. This khukuri (also called Kukri & Khukri by many people outside Nepal) blade is exactly the same as the British Gurkha Issue khukuri blade used by the Gurkha regiments of the British Army in their Iraqi Operations. This khukuri has a custom gripper handle with a blocker that provides for a tight grip and extra protection of the hands while using the khukuri.

It is one of the best khukuri with a tight grip that can be used for normal to heavy work and activities. The Panjawala Khukuri is mostly used for heavy-duty use. The blade looks very similar to Panawala Angkhoal Khukuri but is heavier. this model was introduced due to the demand for a durable heavy-duty khukuri that can be used for both daily & rough purposes and as well as long-lasting. It can be used to chop wood, clear campsites, and bushes, cut meat etc.

The blade of this khukuri has the strongest spring steel made from highly graded 5160 carbon steel that is processed for a longer period of time. It is an unpolished blade with a balanced oil-quenching temper and is very sharp. The full tang handle is 4.5” in length and is very strong and is made of white Sadan wood. The shape is specially designed for tight finger grip of the finger and has a blocker for protection of the hands. It is a full tang handle and the blade can be seen running throughout the handle. The craftsmanship on this knife is amazing. The khukuri is handmade by “Kaamis” (blacksmiths) who mainly belong to the Bishwakarma caste who are the born khukuri makers in Nepal.

There is a notch (kaura or kaudi) in the blade near the hilt of most khukuri that serves as a conduit for the blood to drip out from the blade, thus preventing it from soiling the hilt, as well as a place for catching and neutralizing an enemy blade.

The Khukuri comes with two small additional knives called the Karda and the Chakmak. The Karda is used as an auxiliary knife to perform tasks like skinning and opening letter and cans and the Chakmak is used for sharpening the blade or to create a spark by striking it to a flint.
