This is a 6″ Full Tang Guard Handle Khukuri | Custom Forged Sharp Working Utility Kukri. This knife is identical in shape to the Angkhola Khukuri (also called kukri and khukri by many people outside Nepal). This design of the Angkhola Khukuri was made in “Angkhola” village and therefore is also known as Panawal Angkhola Khukuri.

The unpolished blade measures 6-inch in length and is made from highly graded 5160 carbon steel. There is a wooden handle about 4.5-inch in length made from rosewood. This Khukuri has a uniquely distinct handle where the metal of the blade runs through the handle length (full tang). The handle guards protect the hand from the blade and a small guard also aids in a tight grip when using the knife during detail cutting.

The scabbard is made from pinewood wrapped in water buffalo leather. The scabbard of this 6″ Full Tang Guard Handle Khukuri has two pockets on the back of the scabbard hold a blunt steel knife called “chakmak” for sharpening the blade or for lighting fire with a flint and a little knife known as “karda” used for skinning small animals such as rabbits. The notch (kaura or kaudi) in the blade near the hilt of most khukuris serves as a conduit for the blood on the blade to drip out, thus preventing it from soiling the hilt, as well as a device for catching and neutralizing an enemy blade.

Please note that this handcrafted kukri might have slight variations in measurement.
